MBACP BSc Dip.Coun

I am a fully qualified Person-Centred counsellor and have a wealth of life experience to add to my portfolio. My journey into counselling began when I worked for a large charity as an Information Officer, helping individuals with practical issues to enhance their lives. I found many were also experiencing emotional problems and I was able to connect with them and support them emotionally. I then decided I wanted to become a counsellor and began my training.
Before working as an Independent Counsellor, I worked as an Associate Counsellor at a University in Leeds. In my final year I became a Mature Practitioner working with clients on a short term and long term basis. I have worked with clients from many diverse backgrounds and cultures.
As part of my ongoing personal and professional development, I regularly attend training and workshops.
I attend supervision every month, this is to ensure that I am working safely and ethically, as set by the BACP Ethical Framework. This is available on
Outside of counselling, I also work as a Mentor and Co-facilitator educating Medical Students.
