Karen Hoffman
    BSc Dip.Couns MBACP

I'm a Person-Centred counsellor and qualified twelve years ago. I have a special interest and experience working with Anxiety, Depression and Chronic Illness.

My decision to train as a counsellor began after working as volunteer for a large charity. The role involved supporting individuals while going through a very difficult time. I worked as an Associate Counsellor at Leeds Metropolitan University during my training and after qualifying. In my final year I became a Mature Practitioner offering short term and long term work. I set up in private practice in 2014 and haven't looked back since!

As part of my ongoing personal and professional development, I regularly attend  training, workshops and read lots of books. I attend supervision every month, this is to ensure that I am working safely and ethically, as set by the BACP Ethical Framework. This is available on www.bacp.com
